Astrology
Of the four systems mentioned, astrology is no doubt the most controversial. On the one hand, astrology is based on actual facts, the date and place of birth, yet on the other hand it works with irrational interpretations that have been passed down to us by tradition. Thanks to the first condition, control and mutual exchange of information is possible. Because of the second condition, astrology places itsef beyond control and strikes us as being archaic. Yet experience shows us that the result of these interpretations cannot be relegated to the realm of fantasy. It is not as simple as that.
On account of the objective character of the starting point in its work material, I have opted (already some decades ago) for the portal of astrology to start nibbling at the mystery of life.
A frame of reference with a powerful potential
This may sound as a stopgap solution, as if there wasn’t anything better to be had than astrology, but that was not the case at all. On the contrary!
The astrological model holds a strong capacity for abstraction: Its concepts summarize a broad range of phenomena into one single root essence. Thus they are not limited to one level of phenomena, but cover all layers of reality. This makes astrology a distinctly economical system: it only needs a few tools to be able to describe a complete universe.
Because of its high level of abstraction, astrology provides a framework with a really powerful potential. As such it offers a unique instrument for the classification of phenomena.
